The Holiday Drink – A Recipe

WHere is a simplified take on a drink from our latest cocktail list. This is a party-sized pre-mixed that is bursting with tastes of a Christmas time, making it excellent for a holiday party. Reserve the remaining syrup you can use for breakfast cocktails, puddings, or for additional servings of the drink.

Bikini

Yields 10 servings

To make the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)

300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g fine sugar

Ingredients for the Drink (makes 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml premium vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
Whole cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Directions

To prepare the Citrus Syrup: Combine all the ingredients in a pot, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, agitating to dissolve. Then, take off the burner allowing it to cool entirely. Decant to a clean bottle, cap it and refrigerate it in the fridge, it can be stored for about four weeks.

For the Premix: Pour all the liquids into a sizeable container, leave to sit for one hour, then pass it through , ideally through a fine cloth, making it perfectly clear.

To serve: Measure 85ml of the cocktail base into a mixing glass filled with ice, and stir lightly for a minute to cool it down. Filter into a cold coupe glass or similar, top with some cranberries and finish by giving it a quick spritz of the essential oil above the glass.
