Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets targeted the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the city experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
